Abeltje is een naschools initiatief van enthousiaste ouders en leerkrachten om kinderen uit Canberra en omgeving in aanraking te laten komen/blijven met de Nederlandse taal en cultuur.
Op dinsdagmiddag van 16:00 – 17:30 uur geven wij Nederlands onderwijs aan kinderen in de leeftijd kindergarten t/m 12. Tijdens de les hebben we aandacht voor:
- spelenderwijs met de Nederlandse taal bezig zijn
- Nederlands leren lezen en schrijven
- kennismaken met de Nederlandse cultuur en geschiedenis

Welcome to the website of Abeltje Dutch School Canberra!
Abeltje is an after-school initiative of enthusiastic parents and teachers to help children from Canberra and the surrounding area to get /stay in contact with the Dutch language and culture.
On Tuesday afternoons from 4 to 5:30pm we provide Dutch education for children aged kindergarten to 12. During the lessons we highlight:
- Engage with Dutch language in a playful manner
- Learn to read and write Dutch
- Get acquainted with Dutch culture and history

"ACT playgroups" gebouw, 41 Templeton street in Cook
Het beste is om ingang Ellis street te gebruiken. Daar is ook voldoende parkeergelegenheid.
Lestijden
Elke dinsdag tijdens schoolweken van 16:00 tot 17:30 uur (4 x 10 weken per schooljaar).
Uitstapjes
Naast de gewone lessen worden er enkele malen per jaar excursies georganiseerd, zoals de jaarlijkse trip naar de ijsbaan. Ook hebben we een aantal videos opgenomen op locatie in Canberra, zoals "Doe de Kanga" en "Energie".

The class room we use is right at the entrance, closest to the parking lot off Ellis street.
School hours
Every Tuesday in the ACT school terms from 4 to 5.30pm (4 x 10 weeks every school year).
Excursions
Beside the regular lessons we organise excursions every year, like the yearly trip to the ice skating rink. We also created some videos like "Energie" and "Doe de Kanga" which was filmed all over Canberra.
